Armenians in Anatolia according to the Times newspaper (1920/1923)

In this study, Armenians living in Anatolia and on the frontlines opened during the Turkish Liberation War examined Turkish-Armenian relations between 1920 and 1923 through the eyes of The Times newspaper. The Times which was founded in 1785, has been evaluated especially based on this newspaper because it acts as a spokesperson for the British government. The Turks started the National Struggle by not recognizing Sevr, who was signed to the Ottoman State after World War I. Britain, which is at the head of the Western bloc, has become the archenemy of this struggle, and to end the Turkish National Struggle they both directly landed troops also supported minorities in Anatolia especially Armenians. As a result of this study, it was determined that The Times didn't look objectively at the Armenians in Anatolia between 1920-1923, defended the Armenians within the framework of the interests of the British Government, made every effort to insult Turks and Muslims, also try to show them as if they were barbaric. The Times constantly claimed that Turks committed genocide against Armenians and other Christian minorities living in Anatolia, even during the Lausanne treaty process signed at the end of the war. In order to strengthen these allegations, the deportation of 1915 was shown as genocide and kept it alive in the eyes of the public. In general, it is seen that The Times try to show as if Turks were always brutal and they massacred the Armenians. It was seen that the British Government wanted to justify their activities in Anatolia in the eyes of their own public by denigrating the Turks and showing the Armenians as oppressed and innocent.
