Reid, embodying the mind and operations of the Aristotelian system; The Cartesian system, on the other hand, finds the spiritualization approaches of the body and its qualities erroneous, and stands by the theory of perception based on common sense based on these two misunderstandings. Accordingly, it proposes to accept the existence of what we see, feel and be conscious, and to take our opinions about the qualities of the body from the testimony of our senses and our thoughts about our sensations from the testimony of consciousness. Reid argues that each process of the senses includes a judgment or belief in addition to simple perception, and that belief is not a result of ideas, but a result that is included in the nature of sensation.
