The evaluation of philosophical concepts in Thomas Xavier Bianchi's Dictionary called dictionnaire Francais-Turc

Among the most important dictionaries in terms of Turkish Lexicography History is undoubtedly Thomas Xavier Bianchi's Français-Turc dictionary. Bianchi's Français-Turc dictionary is one of the most referenced dictionaries in today's Turkish Lexicography research. In addition, Bianchi included very important philosophical terms and concepts in his dictionary. For this purpose, these terms and concepts were identified by scanning the content of the dictionary. It has been discussed whether there are any differences between the spellings and meanings of the terms and concepts in Bianchi's dictionary and their spellings and meanings in today's Turkish. While revealing the difference between the terms and concepts in the Bianchi dictionary and today's terms and concepts, Bedia Akarsu's Dictionary of Philosophical Terms, Ahmet Cevizci's Great Dictionary of Philosophy and the electronic dictionary of the Turkish Language Association were generally used. With this result, it has been seen that some of the terms and concepts in this dictionary examined by us are used by Bianchi and are still in the same words today. However, the spelling and meanings of some words have changed or become different or have been replaced by other words. Bianchi's responses to French philosophical terms and concepts are mainly in Arabic and Persian. However, Bianchi's dictionary also contains, at least partially, Turkish philosophical terms and concepts. Bianchi's dictionary is very valuable to focus on both in terms of Turkish Lexicography History and in terms of our history of philosophy due to the philosophical terms and concepts it contains. We think that the information we have added about Bianchi's life story will contribute to a more detailed understanding of our cultural history. We think that this study will contribute to a better understanding of how philosophy terms and concepts have changed over time.
