Abstract (EN)

The most important properties of titanium metal that concern us engineers; high corrosion and erosion resistance with high thermal and specific strength and low density. Due to its corrosive resistance, it is widely used in sea water, atmospheric effect, acidic and alkali environments. When the internal structure of the metal is examined, it can be seen that there are two different types of structures, alpha and beta. It is known that pure titanium metal which is in alpha phase up to 885ºC turns into beta phase when this temperature is exceeded. The phase conversion occurs at different temperatures according to the type of titanium, the amount of other elements contained therein. In this thesis, chemical, physical, and mechanical properties of titanium and their alloys; internal structure characteristics; production methods; heat treatments and their application areas were examined. One of the important alloys which requires more knowledge about microstructure characterization and hot forming is that the samples taken from U profile formed after heating and pressing at different temperatures of 1 mm sheet Ti-6Al-4V type due to the complex deformation properties in the dual phase ( α+β) region, microstructural changes due to the material made by the springback angles and the results of tensile graphs were evaluated and the formability of Ti-6Al-4V was investigated.
