Özet (EN)

Coating or forming of hydroxyapatite phase integrated with most ions that exist in natural bone stucture on metallic materials by surface modifications are most applied methods. In this work, Ti6Al4V alloy which is one of the most widely used metallic materials in biomedical applications was used as substrate. Microstructure of this material was modified with the aid of thermal processes. By this means the surface structure of material was also modified. Subsequent to these processes, it is expected that surface modification methods applied on different microstructure would yield more compatible surface to body environment. Porous and stable ceramic oxide layer was formed on surface of substrate with the aid of electrolite including magnesium doped calciumphospate by using micro arc oxidation (MAO) method, one of the most practiced surface modification methods. MAO modified layer was studied to see if there was an alternation depending on material structure. Combining magnesium with titanium oxide formed on surface of Ti6Al4V alloy, is known to improve biocompatibility and bioactivity. MAO modified porous layer with high adhesion to the surface is reported to provide a suitable interface btw. Bone and implant surface fort he bone cells to grow. Phase characterization of formed cotatings was detetmined by Rigaku D-max-2200-PC XRD (X-ray diffractometer); surface morphologies and elemental analyses were determined by JEOL-JJM 6060 model SEM and EDS (energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy); surface roughness was determined by XP2 surface profilometry (Ambios XP2 Stylus Profiler). Electrochemical characterizations of coatings were made by Gamry Reference 3000 model Potentiostat/Galvanostat. As a result of this study materials that have aged structure have better bioactivity, and materials MAO processed in 0.5A/cm2 current density have higher adhesion properties.
