Effects of trading education of commercial high school students on their vocational education and training places, an aplication (İstanbul, borough of Bağcılar)

SUMMARYOne of the most important criteria to determine the developmental level of a country isto get that country?s quality of human sources. Because of the fact that the technology and theindustry play an important role in today?s world, especially in this century, the education systemhas a vital duty on educating the demanded human power to use and control that technology andindustry. As performing its duty, the education system considers its students as creative andproductive students and following that it prepares them to the business world. This functionalhard and crucial work majors on especially during the High School period. Each country reallypays very much attention to the Vocational and Technical High Schools because of their nationaldevelopment plans. However, those schools have problems and difficulties to perform their tasks.To overcome those difficulties and problems, each country has its own solutions according to itsown situation and circumstances.According to the legislation 3308 (Apprentice&Vocational Training Legislation) that wasenacted in the years 1986-1987, the aim of this research is to eveluate the practical and theoreticalstudies of the Vocational High School students both at schools and at work places and also to findsolutions for the problems of the Vocational High School students.At the first section of the research, a brief information has been given. At the secondsection, the result of the questionnaire totally 1453 that was applied to the 51 Coordinators, 552Trainers, and 850 Students has been evaluated.The data collected from the questionnaire have been evaluated by scrutinizing thestatistical investigations such as Frequency, Percentage, Weighed Average, Standart Deviation,Kay-Square, Independent Samples t Test, One-Way ANOVA, Mann Whitney U Test, KuruskallWallis Test, Kolmogrow- Simirnow Tests..At the third section, the results of the research have been reviewed and commentedon. Thus, we have concluded the results as in the following.1- More programmed studies, plans must be applied to the students for the school andstudy field selections.2- It has been found that the theoretical education applied at schools does not preparestudents for the practical education carried out at the outside of the school.3- The relation between school and work place isn?t at enough level.4- There is a need to improve the harmony between the knowledge and the skill atschool and work place.5- Although the skills aimed to be achieved in skill education application programmecouldn?t be taught at enough level,the students with skill education found opportunity to applytheir theoretical knowledge at workplace. Furthermore they learn various works distinctly fromtheoretical knowledge acquired at school.Therein skill education is , because preparing studentsto real work life also with regard to improve their social relation , a useful education.6- The students experiencing skill education should be oriented and must be sent tobusiness enterprise , also there is a need to check their works at their work places.7- For developing skill education application, the education schedules should beinnovated and an harmony should be built accoarding to today?s developments. And for providingthat it is suggested that the application should be enhanced by Ministry of National Educationgetting the opinions of the representatives in business world and the managers controlling andmanaging the institutes of education.
