The problems that the students who take accounting education in trade vocation high schools encounter during trainee programme and some suggestions for solution: Example of Istanbul

The most needed job power in business world is accounting. Today, a large amount of performer need of this job is met by Trade Vocation High Schools. Acoounting is a job depends on current knowledge and practice. This education is a process starts with a 3-yeartheoratical education in trade vocation high schools and continuing with 2 days at school and 3 days at organizations as training in the last grade. In this survey, how accounting education in trade vocation high schools is and the problems of this education during training process are defined and some solutions are suggested. In the first section of the study, general knowledge about the history of trade vocation high schools, aims for foundation, the importance of them for today, accounting education and conditions for registration is given. In the second section, knowledge about the theoratical part of accounting education given in trade vocation high schools, departments in trade vocation high schools, the frame programme of Deparment of Accounting and Finance, the courses given in the department of Accounting and Finance, and the application of this programme is given. In the third section, knowledge about training process which is the last stage of accounting education in trade vocation high schools, time in trainee education, payment, the content of trainee education, the Principal?s Assistant who will have an assingment in accounting education, coordinator teacher, duties and responsibilities of educational staff is given. Shortly, general knowledge about trainee education is presented. In the fourth section of the study, a questionnaire consists of 26 questions is applied to 755 students who are trainees in different regions of stanbul in order to determine the problems which are confronted with training education in organizations. When the questionnaire form is evaluated, it is determined that trainees choose trade vocation high schools for variety of reasons which are inappropriate with the school?s foundation aims, deficiency of materials at school, the inadequacy of teachers, the inadequacy of the education at school, the inappropriateness of the training place for improving, no integration between the school and practice, no cooperation between the school and business world, the fact that trainees are worked in other departments apart from their own fields, trainees are not paid the amount of money that they deserve according to their work, the inapproriateness of training time causing bother in terms of adaptation to the school or organization.
