Özet (EN)

In this study, the dynamic effects of secondary braking (retarder) was studied on a commercial vehicle driveline system. A mathematical model was established for vehicle driveline (clutch, drive shaft, retarder, differential and axle shaft) with the aid of generated equations of motion. The effect of retarder was theoretically calculated and results were compared with test studies. Differential revacycle gears, carrier and axle shafts studies were performed depending on the theoretical results obtained from the equations of motion for driveline with numerical integration results. Also on the driveline system, fatigue calculations are performed with finite element method to examine in terms of material strength and service life. Torque measurement data was obtained by strain measurement method with telemetry system from propeller shaft and compared with the theoretical results. In addition, turnnig characteristics of a commercial vehicle was evaluated with constant radius test method. MATLAB Simulink-based program and sub-programs were created for the solution of the equations of motion. Catia V5 R19 commercial software was used for solid modeling of vehicle driveline components and finite element analysis was evaluated for some driveline components with ANSYS V12.1. commercial software.
