ABSTRACT Master of Science Thesis ISOLATION AND IDENTIFICATION OF SOME BACTERIAL SPECIES FROM FOOT DIABETES PATIENTS IN TIKRIT CITY HOSPITALS Mohsin Shaalan Ibrahim IBRAHIM Çankırı Karatekin University Graduate School of Natural and Applied Sciences Department of Biology Advisor: Asst. Prof. Dr. Ramazan Serdar ESMER Co-Advisor: Asst. Prof. Dr. Mahmoud Khalaf SALIH'E The present work was completed in the city of Tikrit/Salah al-Din Governorate between 15-11-2021 and 01-04-2022. Using sterile gel swabs, 100 bacterial samples were collected for both sexes and age groups, aged 50-70 years, from patients with diabetic foot ulcers sleeping in the surgical ward of Tikrit General Hospital and some private clinics in the city of Tikrit. While 89 samples gave 89% positive results for bacterial growth in the medium used, 11 samples and 11% of the total sample number gave negative results. While the most affected age group (over 60 years old) reached 42.70% and 57.30% in men and women, respectively, with 26 samples in the male group and 50.98% in the females, this was also seen in the male group in the age group (50-60 years). Bacterial isolates with a rate of 43.14% against 20 infections in the age group (over 60 years) and 42.11% in the female group were diagnosed with a group of biochemical tests in 22 patients, and the diagnostic results showed that Escherichia coli bacteria was the most common bacteria. Diabetic foot injuries are followed by Pseudomonas aeruginosa (20.22%), Brucella abortus (17.98%), Proteus mirabilis (14.61%), and Staphylococcus aureus (12.36%) with 83.34%. As for the use of the phytic technique, the current study has shown that diagnosis with this technology provides very fast and accurate comparative results. The susceptibility of the isolates to ten types of antibiotics (Amikacin, Gentamicin, Ciprofloxacin, Norfloxacin, Imipenem, Nitrofurantoin, 6, Levofloxacin, Doxycyclinesin and most live antibiotics) was tested in vitro and using microbe identification techniques used in health laboratories. 2022, 41 pages Keywords: Bacteria, Antibiotics, Sugar, Samples, Sores.
