Özet (EN)

The 2-aminothiol scaffold is a core structure presents in complex biomolecules such as peptides, gluathione and coenzyme A, as well as in natural products such as cysteine, homocysteine, cysteamine and penicillamine, which play a crucial role in important biological processes. Therefore, their derivatives form an effective class of compounds for medicinal and synthetic chemistry. Most common uses of them include enzyme inhibitors, radioprotective agents, intermediates for the synthesis of biologically active compounds, precursors of nitrogen and sülfür containing heterocycles (e.g. thiazoline, thiazolidine, thiomorpholine, thiazepine) and as ligands in organometallic catalysis. It has been found that new antibiotics are needed that can resist the gram (+) and gram (-) bacteria that cause infection, considering that bacteria develop/gain resistance to drugs and show resistance even to newly produced antibiotics. In this study, new mercaptopropylamines were synthesized from thymol and carvacrol compounds, which are natural alcohols that are thought to be highly likely to be used on living organisms. The effects of these synthesized compounds on gram (+) and gram (-) bacteria on antibacterial activities, their antimicrobial activities and their effects on hCA I, hCA II, AChE, BChE enzymes were investigated. Keywords: Thymol, carvacrol, oxirane, thiiran, mercaptopropylamine, antibiotic, antibacterial, antimicrobial enzime inhibition
