In this study; industry, concepts of industrialization and urbanization, the emergence of the planned industrial zones and organized industrial zones and industrial site applications in Turkey are discussed. Besides, the historical development of the Konya industry and the formation of industrial zones on the scale of development plans were examined and the changes in the structural characteristics of industrial sites over time were evaluated through examples. It has been observed that user requirements that were not foreseen or subsequently came up during the design phase caused modifications in the industrial sites which were projected according to typical plans. In this respect, " Büsan-I " one of the important investments of Konya in the 1990s, where chosen as a study area, in which today physical aging and comfort problems occurred. It has been determined that there were different approaches according to the process followed in the modifications, samples to be examined were selected in this context. In order to evaluate the modifications systematically, it was aimed to show up the interventions in a prepared table making them possible to compare and observe. As a result, planning suggestions for new industrial sites are presented in line with the problems identified in the samples examined within the scope of this thesis. In addition, the importance of restoring comfort conditions of the existing buildings and preventing illegal interventions by providing technical support followed a disciplinary and systematical modifications to buildings which are about to complete their technical life but whose structural life is continuing, has been emphasised.
