Evaluation of the exhibition and organization of Tire Necippaşa Library from the perspective of cultural heritage

In this master's thesis, the focus is on expanding the service policies of Necippaşa Library, located in the Tire district of Izmir Province, to sustain its function and promote tourism. With its rich cultural heritage, this library serves as a bridge that transfers information from the past to the present. However, the book collections in the library mainly consist of rare manuscripts and old-script printed books written in Arabic, Persian, and Ottoman Turkish. Despite the narrowing of its target audience after the alphabet revolution in 1928, the library has managed to survive until the present day.With the advancements in digital librarianship, the possibility of transforming the historical library building into a book warehouse arose, as the library's books are now provided online to researchers following the rare book directive. However, with appropriate planning and changes, the concept of a museum library combined with a focus on tourism can be applied. The role of the library in promoting tourism holds great importance in preserving and ensuring the sustainability of cultural heritage for future generations.
