Abstract (EN)
Titanium and its alloys have been widely used for biomedical applications due to high biocompatibility, osseointegration and corrosion behaviour. Therefore, investigation and enhancing the corrosion behavior of these materials have vital importance. In this study, we aimed to subject the titanium and its alloy(TiAl3) to form corrosion resistant oxide structures on their surfaces in the HF solution by anodising them. The anodizing process was carried out as Ti anode and Pt cathode in 0,1 M HF solution. 17,5 V was applied to the system for 30 minutes. The biocompatibility of the generated modified electrodes (Ti / TiO2 ) was investigated in invitro conditions. The electrochemical and corrosion behaviors of these electrodes were investigated in physiological saline and artificial perspiration solutions at 310 K to provide an example for body fluids. For this purpose, current-potential curves, cyclic voltammetry, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) and polarization measurement techniques were used. In addition, surface structures were examined with scanning electron microscope (SEM) and contact angle meter. According to the results obtained; anodizing increased the corrosion resistance of Ti. For Ti / TiO2, the anodic current density and contact angle were lower in the polarization curves and corrosion resistance was determined higher in the EIS measurements. This is associated with a more stable, homogeneous, compact film layer formed on the surface.
