Investigation of acute effects of exercises with vibrating balance device on static and dynamic balance ability

The aim of this study is to examine the effects of vibration application on balance skill acutely during exercises performed on the balance board. 30 athletes actively playing football in Afjet Afyon Spor U19 team in Afyonkarahisar city voluntarily participated in the study. In order to investigate the effect of vibration balance studies on balance skills, the participants were randomly divided into 3 groups as vibratory balance group (n=10), balance group (n=10) and control group (n=10). The vibrating balance group was made to work on the balance by vibrating with the vibration motor mounted on the bosu balance ball. While the balance group did the same balance work on the bosu ball without vibration, the control group did any balance work. Static and dynamic balance measurements were taken in all three groups before and after the studies. In order to determine the significant differences between and within the groups and according to the group-time interaction, the 3x2 repeated measures ANOVA test was applied. The results were evaluated at a significance level of p<0.05 at a 95% confidence interval. At the end of the study, while there was no significant difference between the groups in the pre-tests in terms of static balance as a result of Post Hoc tests, a significant difference was found between the Balance+Vibration group and the control group (F:4,199, P<0.02) in the post-tests (t:2.831, p). <0.019). In terms of times (F:9.716, P<0.01), a significant increase was detected in both balance and Balance+Vibration groups (t:-3.117, p<0.003). In terms of group✻time (F:4,156, p<0,021) interaction, it was determined that the balance+vibration group showed a proportionally greater improvement (13.41% in the balance+vibration group, 4.64% in the balance group, and 0.003% in the control group). In terms of dynamic balance, there was no significant difference between the groups in the pre-tests as a result of the Post Hoc tests, but a significant difference was found between the Balance+Vibration group and the control group in the post-tests (t: 1.632, p<0.032). In terms of times (F:4.096, p<0.04), a significant increase was detected in both balance and Balance+Vibration groups (t:-2.024, p<0.048). It was determined that the balance+vibration group showed a proportional improvement (10.22% in the balance+vibration group, 4.66% in the balance group, 0.77% in the control group) in terms of the group✻Time (F:1,128, p<0.031) interaction. . In summary, it was determined that the vibration application while on the balance board showed more improvement on the static and dynamic balance skills acutely compared to the balance study performed alone and the control group. Based on the results obtained from the study, there is a need for more studies in this area, with the recommendation of vibratory balance studies for acute development in sports branches where balance performance is important.
