Translation problems in translations of theatre texts

This thesis, which focuses on the translation of theatre texts, deals with the translation methods of theatre texts which are seen as different from the other literary forms. The translator faces with the problems of language, problems of transferring cultural aspects as well as staging problems, in this context the translation of theatre texts must be speakable and performable. During the translation process, transferring the meanings from one language to another is not the only thing that is expected from the translator. The theatre texts which are written for a performance must be equal to the original meaning. Final production of the play on the stage must have the same effectiveness on the audience. In this thesis it is aimed to show the problems of theatre text translations with the comparative analysis of Arthur Miller?s ?Death of A Salesman?.
