Abstract (EN)
In this study titled "Evil Aesthetics in Theater and Shakespeare's Villains", the concept of evil, which has always been defined as a problem from ancient times to the present, has been examined with its social and artistic dimensions. In the first part of the study, while the social dimension of the concept of evil is examined, the existence and perception of this concept in the fields of mythology, theology, philosophy, sociology and law are discussed. In the second part of the study, the use of the concept of evil as an element of creating a tragic and funny event and situation in the theater has been examined through the examples of plays from the ancient period to the present. The findings obtained from all these examinations are the four great tragedies of English playwright William Shakespeare, Macbeth, Othello, King Lear and III. It was used in the study of Richard's villains. The fictionalization of these characters as the representatives of evil and evil in Shakespeare's plays, the features that he attributed to them and reduced them in this process, and the cultural references he applied while creating the characters were emphasized. In Shakespeare's plays, not only the characters, but also the setting of the atmosphere and the stage design are handled through the animation of the evil.
