Özet (EN)

The structures of synthesized Schiff bases (L1, L2) and metal complexes were elucidated using elemental analysis, FT-IR, 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR, TGA, magnetic susceptibility, mass analysis and UV-Vis spectroscopic techniques. Schiff base is one of the most extensively studied ligands in coordination chemistry. Besides being able to coordinate with many transition metals, they have many interesting catalytic properties. Schiff base ligands and their transition metal complexes have received considerable attention as catalysts, for their applications in the agrochemical, radiopharmaceutical industries for cancer targeting, and as a model system for biological macromolecules. Compared to other precursors used, Schiff bases have advantages such as higher activity, selectivity, resistance to air and moisture, and operation under milder reaction conditions. In this study, Schiff base ligands and Co(II), Fe(II), Pd(II) and Ru(II) complexes of these two ligands were synthesized and their structures were elucidated. The catalytic activities of Ru(II) complexes in the hydrogen transfer reaction of ketones and Pd(II) complexes in Suzuki-Miyaura and Mizoroki-Heck C-C coupling reactions were investigated. The results can be summarized under the following three headings;
