Abstract (EN)
The continuation of the famous Kyrgyz epic "Manas," or in other words, the second important part of the Manas trilogy, is the epic "Semetey." This epic recounts the struggles and heroism of Manas' son Semetey for his homeland and his people. The subject of our thesis is this Semetey epic, compiled by Tınıbek Capıyuulu and published in Moscow in 1925 in Arabic script, Semetey Baatırdan Bir Bölüm. Tınıbek Comokçudan "Semetey Kahramandan Bir Bölüm. Tınıbek Destancıdan" (A Section from Semetey the Hero. Tınıbek the Epic Poet). This section has been translated into Turkish, and the words used in the text have been examined in detail in terms of their lexical content. Our study consists of the following sections: Introduction, Analysis, Conclusion, Text (Transcription and Translation), Glossary-Index, and Bibliography. The introduction section contains the thesis topic, purpose, scope, and general information about the Semetey epic. In the analysis section, the epic passage in question is examined in detail in terms of vocabulary, classified grammatically and thematically, and the frequency of word usage is also indicated. The Conclusion section summarizes the information obtained in the analysis section of the thesis. In the Other Text (Transcription and Translation) section, the epic passage is transcribed from Cyrillic to Latin letters and translated from Kyrgyz into Turkish. The Glossary-Index section that follows this section contains a Kyrgyz-Turkish glossary of the Turkish translation. Our study concludes with the References section.
