Abstract (EN)

The Mediterranean which is an important medicinal and aromatic plants exported by Turkey Laurel (Laurus nobilis La.) have the country has an important place in the economy. Aim of this thesis to produce in vitro seedlings without in vitro micropropagation. In this study, without pericarp laurel seeds were germinated to in vitro condition. sterilization experiment results were observed no contamination in at a concentration of 60% NaOCl, while the best germination rate (71,6%) was obtained from sterilized seeds at a concentration of 80% NaOCl. First shoot of seedling in bay laurel was tip and lateral shoots was improved. Tip and lateral shoots was cut and were taken into rooting medium. According to the results of the rooting experiments, the highest percentage of rooting was obtained from medium 1 mg/L IBA WPM (66,7) and MS (53,3), the best results rooting time (8,7-9) was obtained from1 mg/L IBA WPM and 1 mg/L IBA MS medium. In the last stage, the seedling were successfully acclimatized to external conditions. As a result of this thesis the in vitro clonal cutting study performed on the tip and lateral shoots of the bay laurel has been observed to be practical, easy as well as the result in a short time and the in vitro clonal cutting study performed on the tip and lateral shoots of the bay laurel is more advantageous in commercial rootstock and seedling cultivation than in vitro micropropagation and in vivo cutting propagation studies.
