Abstract (EN)
Due to the rapid increase of the world's population, the amount of waste left to nature increases rapidly with each passing day. As a result of this increase, our limited natural resources tend to decrease continuously. The use of waste materials has become very important for the sustainability and consumption of natural resources. Therefore, innovative studies on the use and utilization of waste materials in our country and around the world are increasing day by day. Road constructions play an important role in the assessment of these inert materials. For this reason, many institutions and organizations around the world are conducting extensive research on the use of waste materials in road constructions. In this thesis, the use of bituminous hot mixtures in the binder layer was investigated by mixing marble wastes, urban transformation wastes and natural limestone aggregates in the marble processing plants in Tokat province in various proportions. Within the scope of this study, waste marbles from urban transformation wastes and marble processing plants were ground in laboratory jaw crusher and standard aggregate tests given in KTŞ (Highways Technical Specification) 2013 were applied to these materials. Then, 6 groups of aggregate mixtures were formed and 7 different amounts of bitumen (3.5%, 4.0%, 4.5%, 5.0%, 5.5%, 6.0%, 6.5%) were added to these mixtures and Marshall samples were produced. Marshall parameters of these samples were determined. The optimum bitumen rate was determined for each mixture group and the results were compared with unadulterated samples. As a result, it has been found that these wastes can be used in the binder layer of bituminous hot mixtures, so that the recovery of a large part of the wastes generated in the region will contribute to the economy and be environmentally beneficial.
