Determination of yield and quality characteristics of some barley (Hordeum vulgare L.) cultivars and lines under Tokat-Kazova conditions

Abstract (EN)

This research was conducted to determine yield and quality characteristics of some barley cultivars and lines Tokat-Kazova conditions during 2018-2019 growing period. In the experiment, 25 barley (Hordeum vulgare L.) cultivars and lines were used as material. The trial was founded 3 replication according to Randomized Complete Block Design. The area of each plot of the trial is 4.0 m2 (0.8 x 5.0). Seeds were sown with a density of 500 plants per m2. Sowing is made at October 31, 2018. Fertilizer rates were calculated as 100 kg N and 60 kg P2O5 per hectare. Half of the nitrogen was given with sowing and the other half before the jointing stage. All of the phosphorus was applied with sowing. In this study, heading period, maturity period, lodging rate, plant height, the number of spike per square meter, spike length, the number of kernels per spike, spike yield, 1000-kernel weight, test weight, grain yield, biological yield, harvest index, protein content values were evaluated. According to the results of the research significant differences were found between the varieties and lines in terms of grain yield, grain yield was changed between 139.7-522.9 kg/da. The highest grain yield values were obtained in Bolayır, Hasat and Zeynelaga cultivars. In addition, the highest protein ratio values were obtained from 12-24, Ünver and Yıldız genotypes. Onder, 4-99, 13-123 and Bolayır genotypes have come to the fore in terms of test weights. When yield and quality are considered, it has been determined that Bolayır and Onder cultivars can be grown successfully in the region.
