Abstract (EN)

Culture; In the Turkish Dictionary, it is the sum of all the material and spiritual values ​​created in the historical and social development process and the tools used in creating them and transmitting them to the next generations, showing the extent of human dominance over their natural and social environment. Cultural heritage is; It has been formed by the transfer of social practices that have emerged as a result of the differences that have emerged in the way of life for generations. The aim of this thesis; The issues related to social practices of the people of Tokat, who have been able to preserve their unique cultural characteristics in today's rapidly changing and modernizing lifestyle, have been determined with its main lines. The cultural heritage elements they protect have been evaluated and examined in terms of UNESCO's Intangible Cultural Heritage Convention. In the study, firstly, the terms related to SOKUM were examined. For this purpose, international agreement texts, primarily those organized by UNESCO, were looked at and literature was searched. After this process, studies in the international arena were examined.
