Determination of yield and bulgur quality of some durum wheat cultivars in rainfed and irrigated conditions in Tokat Zile region

This study was carried out in the 2019-2020 and 2020-2021 wheat growing seasons in order to determine the yield and yield characteristics of 25 durum wheat varieties in rainfed and irrigated conditions in Tokat-Zile location. Experiments were set up in a randomized block split plot design with three replications in rainfed and irrigated conditions. In the study, significant differences were found between cultivars in all traits examined in line with the combined environments (year, rainfed-irrigated) averages. The average heading period of the cultivars in rainfed and irrigated conditions was 153.8 and 155.1 days, maturation period was 186.0 and 188.7 days, plant height 66.2 and 70.7 cm, number of grains per spike 26.6 and 29.7, spike length was 5.9 and 6.4 cm, number of spikes per square meter was 245.4 and 300.6 number, single spike yield 1.26 and 1.48 g, thousand grain weight 41.5 and 43.4 g, test weight 80.4 and 81.0 kg, grain yield 252.8 and 315.9 kg/da. In average values, the values obtained in irrigated conditions were found to be higher than rainfed conditions. According to the results of the combined environments, grain yields of the cultivars varied between 220.2-351.3 kg/da. In the research, higher values were obtained from the cultivars Soylu in spike length and plant height, Şahinbey and Ankara 98 in thousand grain weight, Sarıçanak 98 in test weight, Eminbey and Altın 40/98 in grain yield. Both in rainfed and irrigated conditions, gave desired values cultivars Şahinbey in grain roundness, Dumlupınar and Ç-1252 in bran rate, Soylu, Svevo, Zenit, Altıntaş 95 and Eminbey in protein rate. It was determined that also had high values in terms of vitreousness Zenit and Eminbey cultivars with high sedimentation rates. Low values were obtained from cultivars Ç-1252 in substance rate passing into water, Soylu and Mimmo in water absorption rate. Also, in bulgur yield, Bisante, Artuklu, Meastrale, Edessa and Mirzabey cultivars came to the fore. It has been determined that can be grown successfully Eminbey, Altın 40/98 and Ankara 98 cultivars with high grain yield and other desired characteristics in Tokat Zile region.
