Özet (EN)
Istanbul is the city which is unique stretching over two continents and has a history of over 2500 years. This specific location affects transportation system directly. Following its establishment, this strategic region which has a land and sea embrace, has been an important trade center. During the historical process, the harbor villages are located today at the crossroads of the main roads that reach the sea.Although geographical structure is uneven, the area is very small compared to other cities, it contains an equal population of 36 provinces. In terms of number of vehicles, Istanbul has a quarter of the number of vehicles in in our country. This requires the use of transport infrastructure in the most efficient manner. The impact of globalization after the 1980s, rapid urbanization and major metropolises have taken place. In this case, the service sector has developed on the urban space. There are branch offices of many international companies in Istanbul. Dynamic growth continues at full speed along the Marmara coast and at the east-west axis in the city. The transport sector affects every sector directly or indirectly. Istanbul's economy is no longer limited by the boundaries of their own metropolis. By reason of being a city that does not fit into the container, transportation activities of local governments are insufficient alone. Transport sector to Istanbul is no longer a local government issue. It is regarded as prerequisite and indicator of economic development. Therefore, there are projects for Istanbul's including mainly finance and tourism sectors by many ministries. These projects have been associated with our study. As a part of our literature study, the scientific studies published in this area have been reviewed and analyzed in accordance with common characteristics in our study. Similar and different aspects of major metropolises to Istanbul were evaluated. As a part of field research of our study, the IETT routes of 4 districts in Anatolian side were investigated. Integration problems with other modes of transport has been analyzed, also it was investigated how efficiently use of transport capacity and the road network has been applied.Over time planning, scheduling and capacity planning, the new parameters have been tried to create. The original study was targeted.
