Abstract (EN)

Cities have a dynamic structures that experience a change from time to time, depending on societies' needs. Transportation planning has emerged roughly at the same time as the period of industrial revolution just as urban planning. While urban planning, time and space come into prominence along with the industrial revolution, imaginary space is influential part of today's spatial planning. Today, the high level of performance of the public transportation systems that will be used as an alternative in reducing the negative effects of increasing vehicle traffic will be important for users and system providers. While the value of time is a benefit for passengers due to time savings after the development of infrastructure, understanding the variability of travel times in public transport is an important criterion in performance evaluation. In this thesis, it is aimed to model the indicators of performance which is connected to demand of public transportation as well as, how accessibility and land use effected. The case study is carried out in 129 analysis region of Menteşe, which is the capital sub province of Muğla. The study is done with the surveys of household and traffic counts that are applied within the scope of Transportation Master Plan of Muğla. As a result of the modeling, it was concluded that the travel demand is highly affected by the accessibility index and time, and in land use types, it is concluded that trade use is the land structure that affects the travel demand the most.
