Women entrepreneurship in terms of gender: A sociological Research on Business Women's Association (ELİKAD) in Elaziğ

Nowadays, the scientific and technological developments; neo-liberal politics has been enabled the change of position to the women in work and increased their visibility. Especially, it is observed that there is remarkable increase in this visibility. In this research, the social positions of women entrepreneurs in the labor market have been analyzed in terms of gender roles. In patriarchal social structures, different social roles are imposed to women and men because of social gender. Therefore, differences are observed in the level of participating social life between men and women. Women are either kept at homes in order to do housework or are forced to fulfill the duties regarding daily housework loads even they work at a job. In this case, besides working at a job, women are exposed to two different burdens; looking after their children and taking responsibilities of all housework. Furthermore, how women are internalized entrepreneurship, the problem faced by women in the entrepreneurial process and the connections of these problems with gender and in general to what extent brought a change in the social situation of women entrepreneurship were examined from Elazığ samples. In this research a qualitative research method and in-depth interviewing techniques were utilized and interviewed with ten women entrepreneur in various sectors who are the member of Business Women's Association (ELİKAD) In Elazığ. At the end of the research the collected data were analyzed. Key Words: Entrepreneurship, Women Entrepreneurship, Gender.
