Abstract (EN)
Gender is a notion that developed parallel to social and cultural platforms according to the biologiacal differences between man and women, and in the historical process, it is common in societies where the teachings on the boundaries of the gender of women and men are sharp in the context of cultural and social movements. In many societies there is a visible gender discrimination and man and women are still not equal and that women are treated as oppressed, second-class individuals. Even in developed societies, there are a number of roles over the female gender. When considered in terms of tradition and modern roles those men and women loaded, one of the most important factors in determining the behaviors, responsibilities and attitudes towards these roles are accepted as media. Media and mass media influence the roles of women and men in the society by the content they present. In a manner of speaking, media is an important variable in determining gender roles. In this case, it is important that the content presented in the media which increased public visibility of women and reduced gender discrimination but in traditional media tools, the representation of women is relatively low compared to men. At this point, social media and its tools are getting more and more popular in parallel with the developments in globalization and internet technologies. Social media and its tools that individuals can easily reach today. Against gender discrimination, these social media tools are important mediator and tool for women in order to raise their voice, opinions, express themselves freely and feel free to increase visibility in the public sphere. In parallel with this importance, the blogs, which are one of the popular tools of social media and the content of the women writers of these blogs, have been evaluated to determine the representation of women for the gender conceptual field. Seven women who lives in Turkey has participated in this study on a voluntary basis. The research was conducted with descriptive analysis method.
