Moral panic formation under social values and norms: Examination of sample news about living at same apartment as together famele and male students

There are sometimes that the societies, which share the common cultures, living in a certain area and sustain their self-existing, have panic. Indivuduals are worried when they sense of a threat against the moral values and the norms and it creates a common perception against these individuals or groups. The media identify the heroes who are source of the treats as "deviant". These stigmatized individuals or groups who spoil the peace are excluded from the society and left alone. Bringing the peace and eliminating the threats are overtaken by the powerful groups of the society.These are media managers, politicians and the law emforces. Law enforces police the individuals who spoils the peace and maintain the societies tranquility.This panic atmosphere may last as shot term or long term and more serious. News are sometimes concealed or emphasized others, and this is done for the interest of those. The subject of this research is to explain how famele-male living in the same aparment as students is shown as an example in terms of moral panic status. In this perspective, four national newspaper's copy is analysed by framing method for one month. Moreover, the effect of the media on the creation of the status panic is analysed by these texts on the newspaper. As a result, it is detected that analysed examples are carrying moral panic features. The another result is that the social values and norms have effect on the creation of moral panic.
