Abstract (EN)

In this study, the design of a dynamic vibration absorber for cutting tool holder in turning process has been done. To verify the theorical calculations, an experimental study has been practised. The experiment was done with a cutting tool holder which have a dynamic vibration absorber adopted to inside of holder. The results of 6D (lentgh/diameter ratio) length holder with and without dynamic vibration absorber were compared. Firstly, the holder without dynamic vibration absorber was experienced and during the experiment sound of process was recorded. At the end of the first experiment, the part which was machined has been storaged as arbitration specimen. After the first experiment, FFT anlysis is applied to the recorded sound and the frequency domain is calculated with an application. According to the frequency domain, the design of dynamic vibration absorber has been done. The new tool, which has a dynamic vibration absorber inside, performed with a second experiment and results were writen into the report. Also the second the part which was machined in second experiment has been storaged as abritration specimen. At the end of these two experiments, specimens are compared by visual inspection, the graphics of sound levels, machining noise, frequency domains and surface roughnesses. With results of practical experiment, even though there were no big changes on 600 rev/min and 800 rev/min processes, for 1000 rev/min and 1200 rev/min it has been seen that the chatter vibration is greatly reduced. With these two processes, reduction about 8~10 dBA on noise and up to 94% improvement has been seen on surface roughness.
