Prof. Enver ORHANThe aim of this study is to investigate the facility of the organic farming andto compare the production results of organic and conventional agriculture farms invillages at Taurus mountain area.The farms are subdivided into two groups, such as organic agricultural farmsand conventional agricultural farms and data has been collected throughquestionnaire application.The average farm size is 25,7 decars in the investigated organic agriculturalfarms and 25 decars in conventional agricultural farms. On organic farms,approximately 6% of the farm land have been used for organic production. When thegross profits of organic and conventionel farmers compared; the average gross profitis 76,4 YTL and 76,7 YTL respectively. Factors such as being the first year oforganic farming, the marketing problems and the low selling prices of the productsare the main reasons for the low level of gross profit in organic farms.Key Words: Economics of Organic Farming, Mountain Village, Rural Development.II
