Translation-oriented multilingual term studies in medical language

The role of terms, which can be defined as words specific to branches of activity, knowledge, science, technics, and expertise are becoming increasingly significant. Terms are the main transmitters of information related to fields of expertise. Fields of expertise are studied and comprehended with terms. The distinction of whether the information presented belongs to your particular area of expertise or not, is made with terms. It is necessary to accentuate the role that translation has played internationally on the process of dissemination and creation of terms. This process which, at the present time cannot be acknowledged as to be proceeding in a controlled and reasonable manner, has been addressed, and some methodological examples regarding the problems encountered, and the types of solutions found concerning these problems in various countries have been examined in this study. Although it is not possible to keep up with the speed of the process, there are some benefits of awareness. In a descriptive study, based on problems that translators face when translating the terms of a German emergency aid pocket book for staff called Emergency Medical Technician (ATT), it has been tried to gain an understanding of how terminology works and it has been tried to obtain concrete results about how to obtain the skills that will enable the conduct of terminology researches. Studies have been conducted in order to determine the problems that arise at the points where translators are automatically included in the process of finding the term equivalents.
