Abstract (EN)
Aim: Family planning has become important in the last 20 years. Practices of family planning have increased interventions for contraceptive methods. In this respect, the attitudes and knowledge level of contraceptive methods have been studied in many populations. In this study, it was aimed to determine the knowledge level of first and sixth grade medical students in Bülent Ecevit University Medical Faculty about emergency contraceptive methods. Method: The research was conducted between April 2018 and June 2018. A questionnaire including demographic information was given to the participants and a questionnaire was used to measure the knowledge and attitude levels of morning after pill. Findings: A total of 201 students participated and 59.2% of them were women. A total of 131 students from the first year, while the rest are sixth grade medical students. It was found that the level of knowledge about contraceptive methods increased as the class level increased. Results: As a result of the statistics, no difference was found between the sexes regardless of the type of information related to emergency contraceptive methods. However, it was observed that the sixth grade medical students were not at the expected level of knowledge for this study.
