Abstract (EN)

This study in the widest sense aims to reveal the experience of architecture and art history of the city of Trabzon. For this purpose, the main objective of the study is to conduct a bibliography study on architecture and art history that will combine all kinds of traditional and modern research and survey text, having been written for any reason since the earliest texts. The aim is to prepare a guide and handbook in the context of collected literature for researches who will do studies on Trabzon?s architecture and art history. The study is composed of four main parts. In the first part, the city of Trabzon is discussed. Some historical background information is given about Trabzon, and its importance on fields of the city, architecture and art history is evaluated in the context of studies of local history. In the second part, bibliographies and indexes are included. As well as the bibliographies about architecture and art history, a bibliography of Trabzon?s history, chosen related to both protection-restoration and architecture and art history, which is thought to be contributory to these fields, is also included in the context of the study. The third part evaluates the literature of architecture and art history of Trabzon according to the obtained bibliographies and statistical data. As the conclusion part, constituting the fourth part of the study, the evaluation results about the literature of architecture and art history of Trabzon are revealed in the light of created bibliographies and obtained data.
