Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study to evaluate Sunset Yellow (E110) and Brilliant Black (E151) food coloring substances which has putative to genotoxicological activity and can be used as common in food industry. With this purpose, Tradescantia pallida H., Allium cepa L. and Vicia faba L. plants were used for finding the genetical damage levels with root tip mitosis, Tradescantia stamen hair mutation analysis (Trad-SHM) and Tradescantia micronucleus test (Trad-MCN). Basic of our research project getting knowledge from this aim, four different concentrations (10-200-1000-2000 ppm) of both food colors were applied to the plants with spraying and adding to the irrigation water. All of our experiments were realized under the controlled conditions in the laboratoary.According to the obtained knowledges, it was observed that mutations levels has increased depending on using dose amounts for root tip cell test and Tradescantia mutation tests in all of the plant groups which we treated. In addition, it was detected that both of the food colors have genotoxic potential on the plants with different sensitivities. It was revealed that potential effect of sunset yellow can analysis better with Trad-SHM and effect of brilliant black can analysis better with Trad-MCN tests.
