The reduction of traffic accidents traffic education units

In today?s world the most basic essence of life is to survive in a secure enviroment. Like forming secure living enviroments and providing safe traffic enviroments.Although providing the security of traffic is among the duties of police and gendarmerie who are general security forces,today civil society associations and public foundations also work to fulfil their responsibilities on this issue,like road building works of the General Head Office of Highways ,maintenance and reparation of the infrastructure damages, emergency service teams of the Ministry of Health and actions of the rescue teams of the fire brigades.In general meaning, the maintenance of the traffic order and the prevention of traffic rule violation by checking the traffic,taking measures against traffic accidents and helping the traffic accidents are among the duties of traffic squads of police and gendarmerie.In this study in order to improve the misbehaviours of the road users and and provide the traffic education of road users and to change their behaviours ,we have examined the traffic training given for traffic duties to the staff who work in the police and gendarmerie traffic squads whose duties are to provide the order and control of the traffic , check the traffic,and take the necessary measures against the traffic accidents using the powers given by the Road Traffic Act,issue 2918, and other legislations and we have put forward its contribution to the staff of the traffic squads and and the effects of this contribution on preventing the traffic accidents.Key Words: Traffic accidents, traffic units Education
