The findings reveal the dual nature of social media, acting as both a platform for self-expression and social connection, and as a source of pressure for idealized self-presentation and conformity to online norms. Furthermore, the study emphasizes the emergence of innovative forms of identity negotiation and experimentation within the digital sphere, often challenging traditional concepts of identity development. These virtual identities impact offline realities, including mental well-being, self-esteem, and social integration. This research contributes to sociology by offering insights into the complex interplay between social media and youth identity formation, calling for a nuanced understanding of contemporary identity dynamics in our increasingly digital world.
