Adaptati̇on of transteoreti̇c model to uncontrolled internet usage process

The purpose of the research in the methodological genre; to evaluate the validity and reliability of the Transtheoretic Model (TTM) by adapting it to the uncontrolled internet usage process. The sample of the study between November 2019-March 2020 T.C. at Gaziantep University It has formed 678 students of nationality. Data; The descriptive features form and scales defining the TTM structure were collected and evaluated with SPSS and AMOS programs. In the reliability of the model; Item-total score correlations and Cronbach alpha reliability coefficient, content validity index and construct validity were used in its validity. The scale modeling suggested by the explanatory factor analysis was tested with the confirmatory factor analysis in the AMOS program. At this stage, use of fit indices such as CMIN / DF (2.136), AGFI (0.801), GFI (0.853), RMSEA (0.041), RMR (0.048), CFI (0.903). After the factors are obtained, Eigenvalue statistics and Scree Plot plots are generated. The Path model of the scale was created by evaluating the goodness of fit statistics in the confirmatory factor analysis. The model consists of 72 items and consists of 3 scales: Classification of the Stages of Change, Behavior Change Process Scale, Decision Making Scale and Self-Efficacy Scale. Behavior Change Process Scale, cognitive and behavioral processes; Decision Making Scale, perception of benefit and harm; Self-Efficacy Scale, includes two sub-dimensions as positive and negative situations. Internal consistency analysis for the reliability of the model, Cronbach alpha coefficient; It is highly reliable, as 0.961 in the Behavior Change Process Scale, 0.876 in the Decision Making Scale, and 0.896 in the Self-Efficacy Scale. Item-total score correlations of all items (72 items) in the scale are significantly higher (p <0.05). The structure of the model was provided with the fit values accepted in the explanatory and confirmatory factor analyzes. The evaluation of the scale is carried out on sub-dimensions. After all; It has been shown that the model has validity and reliability and TTM is a usable model to evaluate the change process of uncontrolled internet usage behavior.
