The mediating role of the feeling of inadequacy in the relationship between the perception of coping with trauma and life satisfaction

Abstract (EN)

This study was conducted to examine the mediating role of feelings of inadequacy in the relationship between perception of coping with trauma and life satisfaction in adults. In addition, the relationships between perception of coping with trauma, life satisfaction and feelings of inadequacy were examined and it was determined whether these basic variables differed according to demographic variables. The sample of the study consists of 442 randomly selected adult participants. Demographic Information Form, Trauma Coping Scale, Feelings of Inadequacy Scale and Adult Life Satisfaction Scale were used to collect data. Relational screening model were applied. Independent Sample T-Test, Kruskal Wallis H, Correlation Analysis and Hayes Process Macro were applied while analyzing the data. As a result of the study, a negative relationship was found between life satisfaction and feelings of inadequacy, and a positive relationship was found with the perception of coping with trauma. No relationship was found between the perception of coping with trauma and feelings of inadequacy. It was determined that the feeling of inadequacy did not have a mediating role in the relationship between the perception of being able to cope with trauma and life satisfaction.
