Abstract (EN)
Objectives: Post-traumatic stress disorder is a complex syndrome resulting from the exposure to a life-threatening events such as encountered in war or resulting from violence, childhood abuse, sexual abuse, car accident, earthquake or other natural disasters. In our study we aimed to examine BDNF,CREB and CRP levels in patients with PTSD, its place in PTSD and the relationship between sociodemographic, clinical features of the patients PTSD. Material and Methods: 50 patients, who applied Dicle University Faculty of Medicine Department of Psychiatry and diagnosed as PTSD according to DSM-V diagnosis criteria by psychiatry experts, aged between 18-65 years and age, gander, body mass index matched 40 healthy control group was applied into the study. Blood samples were taken once from both PTSD and control groups and it was compared by using the BDNF, CREB and CRP levels that measured by ELISA kits. Sociodemographic data form, Beck Depression Scale, Dissociative Experience Scale (DES) were applied to all participants Additionally Clinican Administered PTSD Scale (CAPS) was also applied to the patient group. Results: The mean serum BDN and CREB levels o the patients were significantly lower level than the control group and mean serum CRP levels significantly highter than the control group. We've detected BDNF, CREB and CRP levels have a strong relationship with each other. Conclusion: In our study the levels of BDNF and CREB to be lower, CRP to be high compared with controls patients. Lower BDNF and CREB, highter CRP may be a sign of reduction neuroplasticity and the impaired inflammatory response at the pathophysiology of PTSD.
