Abstract (EN)

In this study, we aimed to investigate the pharmacological activity of the active ingredient cannabidiol (CBD) by creating a post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) model in rats. Since it is observed that the current treatment options and treatment results are not at the expected level, we aim to contribute to the efforts to develop a new treatment option that includes different mechanisms. Experimental animals were divided into five groups as control group, stress group, two different doses of cannabidiol and escitalopram treatment groups. PTSD has been established in animals with the stress-re-stress model. Animals were subjected to behavioral experiments, including high plus maze and open field testing, before and after the study. At the end of the study, the brain tissue was removed for biochemical and histopathological study. The data were statistically analyzed. When the experimental groups were compared with each other in the open field test, no significant change was observed in the behavioral parameters of the groups.In the elevated plus maze test, there were various differences between the groups in the biochemical and histopathologically analyzed protein level parameters in the hippocampus and prefrontal cortex. When the end-experimental parameters of the groups were compared with the pre-experimental parameters in the open field and elevated plus maze tests, various differences were observed.
