Abstract (EN)

Acute peripheral nerve injuries, prevalence and incidence varies the level of development of the society, are still common all over the world, a significant portion of permanent disability constitutes a serious health problem. Etiological as traffic accident, work accident, home accident, cutter-piercing tools or firearms injury-will be minted, medical interventions may be in the form of iatrogenic injuries during. Diagnosis and treatment of peripheral nerve injuries follow-up to today's best and first selected assessment method is ENMG. In this study, between 2008 to 2012 years, Department of Neurology EMG laboratory in CBÜTF with the diagnosis of nerve injury patients referred for ENMG reports retrospectively scanned, in our region of peripheral nerve injuries is intended to determine the demographic and epidemiological clinical features. ENMG reports of 98 patients with peripheral nerve injury were evaluated. 85 patients were males (86.7%) and 13 women (13.3%), age range 18-71, mean age 34.72 ± 19.11 found. 43.9% of patients were formed by the workers. Penetrating and cutting object was the most common cause injuries(39.8%). The upper extremities were the most common injuries(68.4%.). A single peripheral nerve injury 80.9%, multipl nerve injury rate was 19.4%. Fibular nerve with a rate of 19.4% in a single nerve injuries, multiple nerve injuries were the most common median-ulnar nerve involvement.Of cases 70.4 % in a partial, that 24% of heavy partial,% 29.6 of the total present was nerve damaged. Thus, 50% of all nerve injuries, was severe or total damage In this study, about of epidemiology, clinical features, and partly electrophysiology in our region the first study provide data. These kinds of studies,constitute a serious health problem and prevention of nerve injuries occurring at younger ages, measures to be taken in the treatment, may be a guide to the protocols.
