Abstract (EN)

In this thesis, the socio-economic structure of the ovine breeding enterprises in the TRC3 region, their opportunities of benefiting from the supports related to the ovine breeding activities, animal health practices, and the level of adoption of innovations and the problems of the related enterprises are examined. Also by investigating the expectations of these enterprises from government, it was aimed to contribute to the production of appropriate policies for increasing sheep and goat breeding activities in the region. Layered sampling method has been used in the study and survey done with 366 producers. As a result of the data obtained, It has been determined that the traditional production structure is dominant in the enterprises examined. In parallel with the increase in the number of animals in the enterprises; It was observed that the issues such as income from animal husbandry, membership to unions, benefiting from unions, getting preventive vaccination, benefiting from supports and producing forage crops increased also (p <0.01). In order to determine the factors affecting the innovation adoption levels in enterprises, 12 independent variables were analyzed with multiple linear regression model, and 8 of the variables included in the model were found to be significant as a result of the findings. High feed prices, high death rates of baby ruminants, insufficient use of pastures due to security problems in the region and lack of shepherds due to the young people not wanting to live in the village are the main problems.
