Abstract (EN)

In this study, the effects of trichlorfon, which is an organophosphate insecticide, on acetylcholinesterase (AChE) enzyme activity in brain and liver tissues and some blood parameters of scaled carp were investigated. LC50 value of trichlorfon on Cyprinus carpio was determined and scaled carps were exposed to 10 % and 20 % sublethal concentrations of LC50 value for 21 days. Blood, brain and liver samples were taken from exposed fish and control group fish, on days 3, 7, 14 and 21. AChE activity, hematocrit and leucocrit levels, erythrocyte and leukocyte counts, hemoglobin level, Mean Corpuscular Volume (MCV), Mean Corpuscular Hemoglobin (MCH), and Mean Corpuscular Hemoglobin Concentration (MCHC) were determined from these samples taken. It was determined that AChE activity of trichlorfon applied fish decreased significanty compared with control group (p<0.05). In addition, hematocrit and leucocrit levels, erythrocyte and leukocyte counts, hemoglobin level, MCV, MHC and MCHC values were lower compared to those in the control group (p<0.05).Key Words: Trichlorfon, organophosphate, AChE, Cyprinus carpio.
