Investigation of selected Kırşehir bozlaks region in TRT TFM repertoire in terms of ayak, sequence and makam

Bozlak, a product of Traditional Turkish Folk Music culture (TFM), is aimed to be noted and included in the literature in this thesis. Another aim is to provide a solution to the ambiguity on the subject by analyzing the melody and word elements. The study defines common concepts in the light of previous scientific studies with different opinions and ideas. As the definitions are examined over the Kırşehir region's bozlak, the study is expected to contribute to the local culture as well. In addition, the study is of importance in terms of making a scientific-based examination of a number of bozlaks. This thesis study consists of three main parts. In the first part, the research area Kırşehir region, local music and the groups that shape the local culture are introduced and the music culture of the region is explained. The second part of the study is the conceptual framework. The concepts of makam, ayak and sequence are explained with different views. In this section, the model used in analysis and the concepts used in notation are also included. In the third part of the study, 10 out of the 75 pieces of Bozlak in the TRT repertoire were randomly selected; The sequence, makam structure and literary structures were examined by content analysis method. The authorities that Bozlak people coincide with or are similar to in the TFM have been explained. Due to the makam diversity it contains, it was found that 2 of the 10 pieces analyzed resembled 2 makams in TFM at the same time. The other 8 grizzlies look like each other in terms of the makam. It can be said that the makams Muhayyer Sünbüle, Muhayyer Kürdi, Tahir, Karcığar and Hicaz are used frequently in Bozlak.
