Investigation of the usability of elaziğ-harput Turks in the TRT Turkish Folk Music repertory in primary education music courses

Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is to examine Elazığ-Harput folk songs in TRT Turkish folk music repertoire in terms of modality, the usability of Turku lyrics in primary school music lessons, and to examine and classify them for their use as a source in the transfer of values education. The research is a descriptive study of the Screening Model in which general due diligence is used to determine the existing situation. As the research was conducted in the scanning model, 84 (eighty four) Elazig Harput folk songs in the TRT repertoire were used as research data. In order to examine the usability of Elazig Harput folk songs registered in the TRT repertoire as supportive content in music lessons, the 2019 primary school music lesson curriculum and 5th, 6th, 7th grade 8th grade music textbooks were examined. Elazığ Harput folk songs were evaluated in terms of verbal and musical elements such as suitability for class, word suitability, and values education. The usability of the folk songs in terms of procedural and maqam was determined according to the procedures and authorities in the primary education 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th grade textbooks and curricula. 16 makams have been determined in folk songs, and the most used one is Hüseyni. 15 methods were used in folk songs and the most used one is 10/8. When the class suitability of the folk songs was examined in terms of makams, it was determined that 46 folk songs were suitable for 5th grade, and 8 were suitable for 7th grade. 30 folk songs were not found suitable. When the content of the lyrics of the songs were examined, it was determined that the content of the lyrics of 54 songs was appropriate and the content of the lyrics of 30 songs was not appropriate. When the appropriateness of the folk songs to the education of values is examined, it was determined that 15 folk songs are not suitable for values education. Among the remaining 69 folk songs, the most used value is "Love".
