Burnout and work-life balance: A research on care personnel working in disabled care centre and nursing home

In this study, it was aimed to examine the relationships between burnout and work-life balance of care personnel working in the disabled care center and nursing home. Another aim of the study was to determine whether the levels of burnout and work-life balance differ according to the socio-demographic variables of the care personnel. The research was carried out on 241 care personnel working in disabled care centers and nursing homes in Kırşehir city center. In the research, burnout scale and work-life balance scale were used as data collection tools. In the analysis of the data, frequency, percentage, mean and standard deviation values were used in descriptive statistics, Mann-Whitney U test, Kruskal Wallis, correlation analysis and regression analysis were performed. In the research; according to the institution, gender, age, education level, marital status, status of having children, weekly working hours, working in shifts and working time in the institution, participants' perceptions of burnout and work-life balance differed significantly. In the study, it was determined that burnout has a significant effect on work-life balance. As a result of the study, it can be said that there is a need to evaluate the working conditions, working personnel, working environment and environmental conditions as a whole in order to ensure the work-life balance of the care personnel working in the disabled care center and nursing home and to reduce burnout.
