Abstract (EN)
In today?s world, where technological and economical changes rapidly occur, consumption habits also change with these changes nourishment need, which is one of thr basic needs of humans, is also affected by these changes.Under the living conditions of today, people prefer practical food, which may be prepared in a short time, especially for the purpose of saving time and concluding their other works as urbanization increases.And fast food restaurants can respond to such demands and needs of consumers rapidly. Fast food restaurants are considered to be the best alternative for the consumers who have to consume their food rapidly; although it is notified that they have many risks in the sense of health, they have become restaurants that are preferred especially by the working people and students. In our country, the term ?fast food? is used in the meaning of both the fast food system and stand up food consumed outside.In Turkey, the food such as simit, toasted sandwich, döner, lahmacun, pide were used to called as fast food before fast food restaurants were opened.As foreign fast food restaurants started to be opened, such food has been called as domestic fast food. In connection with globalization, consumers? habits also change as a result of changes in many fields, primarily technological, economical and cultural changes.In conclusion to the global enterprises becoming widespread in connection with the globalization, new options have been put into the service of consumers in the food sector as it is in many other sectors. This study has been performed in order to show as to how and in what direction the global fast food companies in Turkey affects the nourishment needs of our country in general in connection with globalization and to determine the preferences of consumers.
