Abstract (EN)
Aim of this research is to determine consumers? informations, attitudes, behaviours concerning doorstep selling, to define consumers? informations, attitudes and behaviors disperancy according to their gender and educational background, and consumers? privation to doorstep selling information.Research includes 319 adult consumers chosen coincidentally and experienced doorstep selling and living central districts of Ankara city. Survey sheet consists of 52 questions which aim at defining consumers? behaviours and demographical information concerning doorstep selling and consumers? attitude scale. In the first stage of research, plot experiment are practiced over 20 consumers and troubles that can be faced are set. Inoperative question or questions that are not intended to explain desired research behaviours are revised and rearranged. Frequency as (f), percentage as (%), Chi-square test as considered necessary invention, t-test and one way analysis of variation (ANOVA) statistics are used and error probility are taken as P<0,05 in order to analyse data. Derived results are charted and arrived at conclusion.As a result of research, 51,1% of experimental consumers are women and 48,9% are men. Firstly, because of affordable price (47,3%),then persuasion of seller (38,6%),majority of whom are 30-40 years old consumers prefer doorstep selling. In the first range of products purchased from doorstep selling are electric-power household appliances 30,4%, secondly, self-care or cosmetics products 26,3%, thirdly, food, beverages, and nourishment 22,6%. Prior reason is lack of products or service quality that is why consumers are not satisfied concerning product quality and service purchased from doorstep selling (33,4%). According to educational backround, meaningful consumers?attitudes and behaviorals are seen. With increasing educational background consumers? accend to pozitive behavior sentences concerning doorstep selling are rising.In the light of this research, though consumers are not comprised by law, consumers should avoid buying food, beverages, and daily consumptions product in doorstep selling, in terms of using advantage of statutory rights and not on behalf of beeing agrgrieved, consumers should buy from sellers who have doorstep selling license, and there should be more comprehensive studies and consumers should be trained in rural areas. In the respect of training consumers Ministry of National Education should carry out necessary actions.Keywords: Consumer, Doorstep selling, Attitude, Consumer behavior
