Abstract (EN)
Consumption is conceptually expressed as acquiring any service or purchasing any product to satisfy certain needs or desires. Today, the various images that gained value in terms of the meaning of consumption in the world can make people feel complete and encourage them to consume and make individuals a member of consumption society for this purpose. In this context, the final aims of countries are evaluated in terms of economic growth. This growth is achieved through the use of goods and services that produced to meet the needs of people through the meaning of consumption. In this context, economic growth is regarded by all sectors in the economy as a measure of monetary increase in goods and services produced and it is a measure of the multiplicity and also rise of commercial transactions in quantitative terms. Economic sustainability is the creation of an economic mechanism that supports the most basic consumption and production activities, enables equal sharing, aims to improve the living standards of individuals and to reduce the pressure on the environment without depleting limited natural resources. In the economic dimension of sustainable development, state and foreign debt should be managed, goods and services should be produced in a way that is consistent, and protection from market imbalances that destroy the industrial production process is among the main objectives. The aim of this study is to analyze the relationship between consumption expenditures and sustainable development in Turkey between 1960-2018 by econometric time series analysis technique. In this context, the research made within the scope of the data achieved for the relevant year tested and the result of the econometric analysis with GDP per capita in Turkey between the years 1960-2018 the total amount of household expenditures between long-run relationship of GDP per capita and household expenditures show a positive and powerful effect that has on the total amount. As a result of econometric analysis made within the scope of the research; it is seen that there is a long term relationship between GDP per capita and households final consumption expenditure in Turkey for the period of 1960-2018.. In addition, GDP per capita has a strong positive effect on households final consumption expenditure.
