Özet (EN)

This thesis is a field study that investigates the fundamental motivations influencing participation in boycotts and the factors and tools that affect the sustainability of these boycott movements based on these motivations. Questions were directed to participants regarding the main factors affecting boycott participation, and the responses were examined within the framework of motivations and the underlying rational concerns. In this study, the religious motives and processes influencing the boycott participation of participants in the Yavuzeli district of Gaziantep were also examined. Additionally, how religious motives evolved during the boycott process was interpreted. This research, structured with qualitative methods and an interpretative approach, encompasses the exploration of how boycott participants understand and interpret their religious beliefs. In this context, in-depth interviews were conducted with the participants. The study consists of two sections. The introduction section of the study defines the research topic, problem, objectives, and limitations. It also provides information about the research methodology. The first section examines consumption and related terms, boycott, classifications of boycotts, and the fundamental motivations influencing boycotts from a theoretical perspective. In the second section, findings are analyzed and interpreted based on the theoretical information.
